Outlook 2016 Password Prompts for Profile Creation – UPDATED 6-20-19

UPDATE: It appears there is a workaround for this issue if you are willing to live with the restrictions. The Outlook 2016 authentication issue seems to be a change in the profile creation Wizard. The zeroConfigExchange registry value eliminates the Wizard. Bypass the Wizard and it just creates the profile and opens the mailbox. The limitation: Because it disables the Wizard, you cannot create an additional profile or a profile for any other email account but your own. Comparing AADConnect Rules or How Do I Tell What Changed?

As the rule base generated by AADConnect has gotten larger and larger and a simple configuration setting change can generate multiple rules, it has become a challenge to keep track of what is going on. So when the configuration changes or there is a version upgrade, how does one tell what changed? This is not as important in a “standard” configuration but if the “standard” rules are changed by disabling rules, copying and modifying rules, or adding new rules, it is important to be aware how an upgrade handles those modifications.
